The Rhins Men’s Shed,
Following a meeting of the Shed committee 19th July (Socially Distanced) there was a consenus that the shed would re-open as soon as it could be but safety was paramount.
The Government is continually reviewing the situation and producing guidelines to follow. There has been no information as yet from the Scottish Men’s Shed Association.
It was agreed that it is still too early to open the shed as normal considering the vulnerability of our members.
It was decided that the exterior painting would start Socially Distanced on the 10th August Monday 10am to 4pm and continue Mondays and Thursdays until complete.
There will be NO ACCESS to the shed except toilets and handwashing. No refreshments will be provided. Anyone wanting to help must bring their own lunch etc.
No exceptions will be made. Only those painting should attend. No one with any symptoms or are self isolating should attend.
During this time and NOT BEFORE 7th September mitigations will be put in place so that the shed can re-open in some form. This will probably be with limited numbers following a pre booking scheme. It is envisaged that there will be a long list of measures in place for your safety and the safety of all members. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS following these measures until such time as there is a Vaccine or the Government announces complete control of the Virus .
These are challenging times for all and we can only move at a pace we are allowed and then only if we follow every possible safety advice.
The Rhins Men’s Shed is a group of volunteers (mostly retired) who produce a wide range of items for themselves, charities or private customers from their workshop in Stoneykirk. These items are predominantly wooden but we are always open to producing, upcycling or repairing anything.
Our members time is free and items are sold at cost plus a small fee towards the running cost of the shed.
Most items are custom made and to receive a quote for any item please do not hesitate to contact us using the information below or call into the shed.
Our main room is set up as a woodwork shop but we have some space to accommodate members who wish to tackle most crafts or interests. Please visit the shed and we will be happy to discuss your requirements. Our members have a wide range of skills, techniques and interests which they are always willing to share.
